5 Things You should never do

Do not heat up oil in a microwave

  • Definitely DO NOT squirt hot oil onto your partners body.
  • Warming oil in a microwave is a big no! It’s too difficult to regulate the temperature of the oil running a high risk of burning your partner and yourself!
  • Having warm hands is more important than warm oil. Cold hands will quickly take the heat out of warm oil. It’s far better to add oil to your hands and let the heat of your hands to warm up the oil.
  • I recommend you run your hands under warm / hot water to increase the heat of your hands – obviously don’t burn yourself. Keep rubbing your hands together as the friction will also add heat.

Massage on the floor not the bed

  • The bed is a horrible place to massage your partner! It’s a soft and uneven surface which will make your back work overtime to keep you upright during the massage. Within minutes your back and shoulders will begin to hurt, your massage technique will suffer and you’ll end up giving up.
  • When massaging your partner on the bed, they’re going to need to turn their head to one side when lying face down, this will stop you from properly massaging the wonderful muscles of the neck.
  • You can only massage one side of your partner’s body when they’re lying down on the bed. If they’re facedown, you won’t have access to their chest and all the sexy things that come with massaging the front side of the body.
  • Massage on the floor, sitting upright. I know it sounds crazy but this is by far the sexiest and most intimate way for couples to massage each other. In my basic massage course I teach couples the best way to position themselves for the most effective and intimate massage possible – I’ve personally tried and tested every position possible and nothing comes close to the techniques I teach.
  • You’ll have your partner so close to your chest they’ll be able to feel your heart beating and your breath on their neck.
  • You’ll have full access to massage their head, neck and front side!

Don’t use your thumbs!

  • I’m sure you’re thinking I’ve gone completely nuts!
    Seriously, don’t use your thumbs!
  • I see far too many couples jump straight into massage using their thumbs in a circular motion… guilty? Using your thumbs feels natural, it’s easy to do and gets into all the right places, but it causes the same problem that all couples complain about; “my thumbs become sore real fast, the massage lasts 5 minutes and I give up!”
  • Your thumbs are your secret weapon, save them for the end of the massage to work on the best bits – your partner’s knots! You don’t want to jump straight to the knots at the very beginning; it’s like giving away the punch line in a joke.
  • Use open hand technique with long sweeping strokes to relax your partner, get them into the mood and romance their body before you bring out the awesomeness of your thumbs. Use hypnotic repetitive strokes with rhythm and flow to make your partner melt first, and when they begin to ooh and ahh then start using your thumbs (just a little) to turn them into mush! This way your massage will last a lot longer than 5 minutes you can create pressure using the palm of your hand or fingertips which won’t hurt you. Every good massage therapist works this way – it’s the only way we can last through a typical 8 hour day massaging and not be exhausted.

slow your deep tissue massage

  • Going in deep at the beginning of the massage will cause your partner to tense up. Massaging tense muscles makes your job so much harder.
  • Always begin using relaxation strokes to get your partner into the mood, romance their body using your hands. Once they’re relaxed you’ll find that you can massage with far less effort. Also the true knots will be revealed.

Don’t be boring

  • Variety is the spice of life, but you don’t need to know many techniques to make your massage interesting.
  • Rhythm n flow makes a massage sexy; it allows you to repeat the same technique several times without being boring.
  • Following a routine will take the stress out of “what comes next” in your massage. Each of my courses has a massage routine that will guide you on what you can do next to keep your massage interesting.

About Melt’s MasterClass

Melt’s MasterClass is a carefully planned, strategically executed lesson structure.

Developed over 8 years in live workshops. Thousands of couples were taught, getting it right before filming Melt’s MasterClass.

No practitioner has studied this many couples over such a long period of time, developing and testing the best combination of massage techniques for couples to enjoy at home. The result is a perfect series of massage techniques.

We use intimacy to our advantage

intimacy separates your massages from everyone elses – it’s the one thing no one else in this world can give your partner. This alone is this reason we believe every relationship deserves a little massage in it… don’t you?

Special care was taken to film Melt – a classy representation of a couple massaging at home – no nudity or awkwardness. A slight hint of intimacy – suggestions to plant a thought, allow you to explore and see where your massage takes you.

Make it your expression

We created Melt to allow you to express yourself, tailoring your massage in your own way…

You can chose to explore a sensual massage, using our techniques as a guide and as you become confident allow your hands to wander and explore with your contouring techniques.

Or follow our routines to the letter – no need to think, just copy Denis’ hands, follow his rhythm and give your partner a deeply releasing and therapeutic massage that will have your partner making noises such as hmm and ahh!

Melt has been designed to include a vast amount of “professional” massage techniques to provide a therapeutic release for better sleep, reducing inflammation and stress and better health.

We highly recommend using Melt as a tool to serve your relationship, build connection, allow for more communication and of course… relaxation.
