Did you Know?

This hand massage routine was created by Denis in 2003. This is the exact hand massage routine Denis taught to the practitioners of Merkas Health.

Between 2003 – 2015, Denis owned Melbourne’s largest Hotel massage company, Merkas Health. If you stayed at a high end Hotel in Melbourne, Australia during this time, and ordered a massage – it’s almost certain you received a massage from one of Denis’ practitioners, or even Denis himself.

During those 12 years, countless superstars received this same hand massage, people like Art Garfunkel, Pearl Jam, Pink, James Earl Jones, Pierce Brosnan, even the guy who job it is to yell out “Let’s get ready to ruuuuuuuumble!” Also comic book legend Stan Lee (the creator of spiderman) – the list is ridiculous.

We think it’s pretty cool that you now know the same hand massage Denis gave Art Garfunkel. We think its very cool.

year 2005

GET THE GIRL

Denis creates the first version of Melt. His motivation was to impress a girl named, Emma. It took him only 30 minutes to come up with the concept and write down the routine and over 2 months to gather courage to ask Emma if she would like a back rub… they marry in March 2009. Denis had no intention to release Melt to the public.

year 2007

THE FIRST WORKSHOP BEGINS

After repeatedly being asked by friends and family to create a learnable workshop of Melt, Denis spends months structuring a course that has is tasteful enough to teach in a group setting. The first workshop goes live… only 2 couples attend. It’s a sad day :(

Over the next 7 years the Melt gains popularity. From blogs, to newspapers, magazines and even TV coverage in Australia. Thousands of couples join us – word of mouth spreads.

It’s here where Denis studies how couples use his techniques. He deconstructs each technique to make sure they’re learnable in the quickest and easiest way possible for couples. Techniques that don’t work are removed, and the ones that couples have most success with remain.

year 2011

MELT GROWS IN POPULARITY

The Melt workshops selling out, each workshop maxed out at 50 people. By this year Denis and Emma begin running multiple workshops in one day, sometimes teaching up to 120 people in the one day.

They decide to film the Melt techniques so that all couples from around the globe have access to this wonderful resource – Denis spends the next two years looking for the perfect cinematographer.

year 2014

MELT IS SEEN IN OVER 50 COUNTRIES

Mid February, Emma and Denis fly from Australia to Los Angeles to film the Melt series. It was filmed in a warehouse in the Fashion District of Downtown LA. Filming started at 5pm and finished at sunrise.

Over 6 months of detailed preparation went into the film shoot. Down to minute decisions such as what clothes to wear and should it be clean shaven or not.

Denis considers Melt his artwork, a truly unique product unlike anything else a massage practitioner has developed.

Over 15,000 couples in 50 countries have now learned Melt.
